Rose & Joe Meissinger bought Illichmann’s in 1971, having learned their trades by working in various delicatessens after coming to Canada from their native Austria.
Wanting to retire in 1999, the shop was taken over by their only son Ken, and his wife Dana, predicting that the family tradition will continue.
Since then, they have expanded their selection of German sausages, offering premium cheese and charcuterie boards, Spanish products, and extensive catering options.
